The Vehicle On the Road Test, will test your skills and road law knowledge. You will be required to demonstrate 5 slow speed manoeuvres and a general drive without breaking any of the instant fail laws. The 5 slow speed manoeuvres are moving off on a hill, angle park, U-turn, 3-point turn and reverse parallel park. The general drive part is designed to use most of the skills that can be learned during the CBT&A course such as changing lanes, busy intersections, turning at traffic lights, stop and give-way signs, and single and multiplane roundabouts.
To pass a VORT successfully you must score 90% or above without breaking any road laws. If you do breach one of the instant fail items, you will need to wait 14 days before attempting again. This will require another VORT fee to be paid.
Many learners underestimate how hard the VORT test is to pass.
80% fail the first time!
With the VORT test, the test must be carried out by someone other than who is teaching you. We have 2 VORT Authorised Examiners, one male and one female, who we have been working with for over 7 years.
How Much Does It Cost?
We suggest at least 5 x one hour lessons. Sometimes more are needed, we will advise you along the way if you need some extras. Please don’t think we are not trying to rip you off, we know the standards and want you to pass, 1st time!
- 5 x one hour driving lessons at $75 per hours = $375
- 1st VORT we pick you up, do a 1 hour practice lesson before doing the 45min test in our car and then we drop you home. $330
- 2nd VORT $330 (Because most fail the first attempt!)
Total cost over 1 month = $1035
** Note we have some learners who do only 2 driving lessons and 3 VORTS $1140if
